Description
Do you feel the oppressive heat and paralysing humidity when you walk through the jungle? The sounds of tropical birds and monkey cries echo through the air. But suddenly the view is clear to the breathtaking waterfall. The water plunges from the mountains into the depths and makes its way through the jungle. This work was inspired by the waterfalls in the Amazon.
The researcher Isaac Newton divided the rainbow colour gradient into units. In this way Newton’s colour circle was created. This consists of the colours of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. In the rainbow project I searched for these colours in nature and worked out abstractedly with the medium encaustic. Colour pigmented wax and resins are melted and applied in layers on top of each other. This project consists of 30 pictures.
