Description
The colour pink does not belong to the rainbow colours, but the artist Gilber Bakers created in 1978 on the occasion of the Gay Freedom Day in San Francisco even a version of eight colour stripes, namely additionally two stripes in pink (sexuality) and turquoise (art).
The researcher Isaac Newton divided the rainbow colour gradient into units. In this way Newton’s colour circle was created. This consists of the colours of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. In the rainbow project I searched for these colours in nature and worked out abstractedly with the medium encaustic. Colour pigmented wax and resins are melted and applied in layers on top of each other. This project consists of 30 pictures.
