Description
Oranges and mandarins, together with lemons, limes, grapefruits and clementines, are among the well-known citrus fruits. Bright colours, fresh scent and delicious juice are the special characteristics of these fruits.
The researcher Isaac Newton divided the rainbow colour gradient into units. In this way Newton’s colour circle was created. This consists of the colours of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. In the rainbow project I searched for these colours in nature and worked out abstractedly with the medium encaustic. Colour pigmented wax and resins are melted and applied in layers on top of each other. This project consists of 30 pictures.
