Description
The colour blood red is a dark shade of red that is supposed to correspond to the colour of human blood. The fired shellac and the resulting structures come very close to the blood capillary network and inspired me to create this work.
The researcher Isaac Newton divided the rainbow colour gradient into units. In this way Newton’s colour circle was created. This consists of the colours of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. In the rainbow project I searched for these colours in nature and worked out abstractedly with the medium encaustic. Colour pigmented wax and resins are melted and applied in layers on top of each other. This project consists of 30 pictures.
